Teach reading using song

About us

Kathy Goforth has been in the field of education for more than 30 years. She holds a Masters Degree in Special Education and is a National Board Certified teacher, as an Early Childhood Generalist. She currently teaches Kindergarten in Havelock, North Carolina.

About 4 years ago, Kathy started using familiar tunes to teach children how to spell required sight words. It was so successful that other teachers asked her to share the songs with them. She applied for a grant to fund the recording of a CD to do just that.

For We Are Jolly Good Spellers was funded by a grant awarded through Kathy’s sorority of educators, Alpha Delta Kappa.
